Billionaire MP lists his assets

Leading industrialist and Rajya Sabha member, Anil Ambani, has disclosed his assets and investments in various companies in a letter to Rajya Sabha Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat.
In the letter, India's richest member of Parliament listed all the companies in which he has business interests and said this has been done in the "interest of transparency, fair disclosure and good governance."
Ambani is entitled to a remuneration from Reliance Industries and Reliance Energy, serves Ambani as a director in five companies and is a shareholder in 11. He has business interests in seven areas, including oil and gas, telecom, textiles, petrochemicals and financial services.
He is a member of 10 trusts and five organisations/committees, including the Uttar Pradesh Development Council, the Indian Institute of Management and the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation.
Sources close to him said Ambani's action would enable him to participate in various discussions in the Rajya Sabha,
including on subjects where his business interests might be involved.
Elected as an independent with the Samajwadi Party's support, Reliance founder late Dhirubhai Ambani's younger son has expressed a desire to be part of the parliamentary committees on human resource development and water resources.
