Agitated people came out on the streets in parts of Bihar on Friday after criminals abducted four persons, including a coal merchant, a bank official and sons of two businessmen, in Rohtas and Sheikhpura districts.

These come a day after the kidnapping of a minister's nephew.

Coal merchant Dhananjay Kumar and bank manager R B Sharma were kidnapped from Rohtas district triggering public protests.

Kumar was abducted by jeep-borne men from New Delia, under Dehri police station, when he was heading to his coal depot.

Sharma, the manager of the Etmaha branch of the Punjab National Bank, was abducted along with three other bank officials from a place under Nasriganj police station when  they were on their way to the bank.

Later, the three others were released at Babhni village, under Nasriganj police station. They also took away Sharma's car.

A Sheikhpura report quoting Superintendent of Police Mohammed Shoaib Khan said armed men raided the house of a jeweler, Subodh Mahato, at Barbigha market and looted goods worth over Rs 150,000 and kidnapped his 12-year-old son Nitish Kumar.

In another incident, eight-year-old Rahul Kumar, son of businessman Hira Sao, was kidnapped from Chewag market in Sheikhpura late on Thursday night.

Shopkeepers in Chewag market downed their shutters and also blocked the vital Grand Trunk Road at Dehri for several hours.

On Thursday, Sugarcane Minister Raghavendra Pratap Singh's nephew Siddhant Parmar was kidnapped from a bus stop near Jagdeopath in Patna. The boy is yet to be traced.
