Shivani murder case: R K Sharma files bail application in Panchkula

The counsel for Sharma, IGP (Prisons), Haryana, submitted that his client has been 'falsely implicated' in the case and that the 'police is trying to save the real culprits'.

The petition would come up for hearing in the court of Justice H S Bangu on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sharma continues to be elusive.

The Delhi police on Monday alerted the immigration authorities at airports all over India to prevent Sharma from leaving the country, sources said.

To mount pressure on him, the Delhi police has also requested the Haryana government not to extend Sharma's leave beyond 10 days.

The Director General of Police (Haryana) has issued instructions to the Senior Superintendent of Police of Panchkula to trace Sharma following a request by the Delhi police, sources said.

They said police on Monday raided a number of places and hideouts of Sharma in Delhi and Haryana and succeeded obtaining some contact numbers.

They said the investigation so far has revealed the names of a few more individuals involved in the crime.

Police have also intercepted some phone calls in connection with the case, they added.
