|
All in a day's workA Pakistani intruder was apprehended, tried and imprisoned. All in a day. Before the reader starts jumping to beastly conclusions, a restrain: the illegal immigrant was a black buck. Now the full story. The locals of Nawala, a village bordering Pakistan in Punjab's Pathankot sub-division, spotted the intruder first in the nearby forests. And, probably thanks to Salman Khan, recognised it for what it was. The next step was calling the forest officials. Which they did with great promptitude. The said officials came, failed to see, and had to be conquered. Once that was accomplished, everything moved in fast forward. A black buck, you see, is too rare an animal to let to wander by itself. The villagers were asked to give a hand, and the hunt started. Needless to say, the animal legged it as soon as it saw the party approaching. It led them a merry run all over the place before getting caught and locked up. Punjab Forest Minister Master Mohan Lal, on being informed about the buck, instructed the officials to pass it on to the Chhatbir Zoo near Chandigarh. UNI |
