Sensex closes at 6,025, up 9 points

The Sensex closed with a gain of nine points at 6,025. The Nifty was up two points at 1,891.
Satyam zoomed over 4% (Rs 17) to Rs 428 owing to hectic buying at the counter. Wipro rallied a per cent (Rs 7) to Rs 721. Infosys, however, was down Rs 6 at Rs 2,067.
ITC slipped Rs 6 to Rs 1,130, and HLL dropped a rupee to Rs 134. Reliance was up Rs 2 at Rs 546.
HPCL slipped 1.9% (Rs 7) to Rs 355. ONGC ended Rs 4 lower at Rs 795.
SBI advanced 1.6% (Rs 8) to Rs 522. ICICI Bank declined 1.4% (Rs 5) to Rs 330, and HDFC Bank closed Rs 4 lower at Rs 478.
HDFC surged 3.3% (Rs 23) to Rs 708.
Hindalco added Rs 6 to Rs 1,287, and Tisco was up a rupee at Rs 312.
Larsen & Toubro rallied 1.5% (Rs 12) to Rs 859.
Dr.Reddy's gained 1.8% (Rs 14) at Rs 800. While Ranbaxy was up Rs 6 at Rs 1,055, Cipla slipped 1.5% (Rs 4) to Rs 268.
Hero Honda skidded 2.2% (Rs 10) to Rs 442, and Bajaj Auto slipped 2% (Rs 20) to 999. Maruti and Tata Motors were down a rupee each at Rs 387 and Rs 445, respectively.
The BSE BANKEX, PSU, TECk and Metal indices posted decent gains at 3,143, 3,861, 1,642 and 5,241, respectively. The BSE Auto and FMCG indices finished lower at 2,467 and 946, respectively.
