Sensex ends flat @ 6,322

A late bout of selling pressure in select heavyweights and weakness in tech and other select old economy stocks saw the Sensex end down a tad at 6,322. The Nifty, after a mixed outing during the intra-day trades, lost ground to end six points lower at 1,990.
Reliance dropped 2.25% (Rs 12) to Rs 531. ITC lost 1.13% (Rs 14) to Rs 1,266. HLL, however, on sustained buying support surged 4.29% (Rs 6) to Rs 151.
Infosys was down a per cent (Rs 20) at Rs 2,030. Wipro and Satyam ended at subdued levels at Rs 742 (down Rs 8) and Rs 410 (down Rs 2), respectively.
ONGC declined 1.25% (Rs 10) to Rs 831.
ICICI Bank was up a per cent (Rs 3) at Rs 357. SBI and HDFC Bank, however, ended with marginal losses.
Ranbaxy soared 4.58% (Rs 53) to Rs 1,215. While Dr. Reddy's gained 2% (Rs 16) to Rs 831, Cipla was up a rupee at Rs 293.
ACC moved up 4% (Rs 12) to Rs 304. While Grasim added 2.45% (s 29) to Rs 1,200, Gujarat Ambuja was up a per cent at Rs 373.
Bharti remained weak through the session, and dropped 3.75% (Rs 7) to Rs 178. L&T also ended with deep losses, and slumped nearly 4% (Rs 39) to Rs 960.
Zee notched up 4.79% gains (Rs 7) to Rs 158 on strong buying support.
Auto pivotals ended on a mixed note.
