BSNL unveils new CellOne plan

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has unveiled a new plan, 'Plan 140', for its mobile post-paid customers, even as the service provider has extended its special scheme for CellOne connections up to October 31, 2003.

Under the new plan, the company would levy a monthly rent of Rs 140, while all local calls to landline, WLL and mobile would be charged at Rs 1.50 per minute, BSNL said in a release on Thursday.

Cell-to-cell STD calls would be charged at Rs 1.80 per minute and STD charges for calls to landline and WLL would vary between Rs 1.50 per minute to Rs 3.60 per minute depending on the distance, the release said.

The company has also added a free time of Rs 75 to its existing Plan 325 and that of Rs 150 to its Plan 525, it said.

The special CellOne scheme for Dussehera, which was valid up to October 5, 2003, has now been extended to October 31, it said, adding new connections under this scheme would get a 100 per cent free talk time.

In a separate release, BSNL said Members of Parliament of Maharashtra and Goa in a meeting suggested that CellOne services should be made available in all parts of the states and also in Mumbai.

They also suggested that "proper attention" should be given to rural areas, it said.
