BSNL slashes ISD tariffs by 70%

October 20, 2003 19:03 IST

The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd on Monday slashed international long distance tariffs by up to 70 per cent on account of the festive season, beginning October 21 mid-night to November 21.

All calls to the United States, Canada and European countries (except the United Kingdom) will now cost just Rs 9.60 a minute, down from Rs 24, and calls to the UK would cost Rs 7.20 a minute.

The pulse rate for the UK would be 10 seconds, while the pulse rate would be 7.5 seconds for the US, Canada and other European countries.

The promotional scheme would be applicable to all basic, cellular, WLL mobile, and public call offices, BSNL officials said.

BSNL, however, has not revised the ISD rates for other countries.
