Gujarat managed to amass 353 runs following a sparkling 142 by Kirat Damani on the second day of the Ranji Trophy Elite group 'A' match being played against Madhya Pradesh at the Motera stadium in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
In reply, Madhya Pradesh were 72 for three and Devendra Bundela and Yogesh Golwalkar were at the crease when the stumps were drawn.
After Gujarat openers Hem Joshipura and Akash Christian were dismissed cheaply for three and six runs respectively, Kirit Damani's 142 and Bhavik Thaker's 52 put the hosts on a sound footing.

Barring Salil Yadav, who managed 33 runs, other batsmen failed to contribute much to the team. Nilesh Modi scored 14, Swapnil Patel 18, Hitesh Mazumdar 12, Amit Singh one and Ashraf Makda seven respectively.
MP medium pacer Sunil Dholpure took a five-wicket haul while Sanjay Pande took three wickets.
MP openers Dholpure and Naman Ojha were sent to the pavilion by Mazumdar when they had scored 11 and 25 runs respectively.
Amay Kurasia scored 24 runs before he was bowled out by Ashraf Makda.
