"We are given to understand that the award will be enforceable only after 90 days from the date of its receipt," Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya said in a statement on Tuesday.

Dalmiya, who took over as BCCI chief a year after the bans were handed out, said the BCCI would use the entire period to discuss the "extremely sensitive" issue with its decision-making working committee.

Jadeja, 31, was banned from all cricket for five years by the BCCI in December 2000 following an internal inquiry by the board into a federal report on corruption in the game.

But an arbitrator, appointed by the Delhi high court, on Monday said the BCCI probe was illegal and set it aside.

Dalmiya did not rule out appealing against the decision.

"In the interim 90 days the BCCI will obtain legal opinion and ascertain if the legal validity of the award should be tested or not," he said.

Former captain Mohammad Azharuddin and Test player Ajay Sharma were banned for life, while Manoj Prabhakar also received a five-year suspension. All the players denied any wrongdoing.

Jadeja played 15 Tests for India, scoring 576 runs, but he was better known for his exploits in one-day cricket. He played 196 one-day internationals, making 5,359 runs at 37.47.
