Sachin, Murali win Ceat awards

Less than six months after being chosen as the Wisden Indian Cricketer of the Century, Kapil Dev on Tuesday bagged the Ceat International Cricketer of the Century award in Mumbai.
Sri Lankan spinner Muthiah Muralitharan bagged the coveted International Cricketer of the Year award.
Sachin Tendulkar will receive the International Batsman of the Year award, Ceat Vice-Chairman Harsh Goenka said.
The awards will be given at a function in Mumbai on Tuesday night.
Australia was chosen as the International Team of the Year for the third time.
Ceat will also honour former Indian captain Bishen Singh Bedi with the Lifetime Achievement award while Australian one-day captain Ricky Ponting is the International Fielder of the Year.
Virendra Sehwag will be awarded for the best match-winning performance for scoring 100 in just 69 balls against New Zealand in the Coca Cola Cup in 2001, Goenka said. Besides glittering trophies, the awards carry cash prizes worth Rs20 lakh.
