Kambli fans on hunger strike

Around 50 cricket lovers from Bombay have gone on an indefinite hunger strike at Shivaji Park Gymkhana demanding the inclusion of Vinod Kambli in the World Cup team. The hunger strike which began today is against "the biased and partial attitude" of the selection board in selecting the team.

Most of the agitators are from the Bombay District North Central unit of the Youth Congress.

A YC spokeman said that "the selection board decision smacks of bias and they should send a balanced and non-controversial team which will be able to win the World Cup for us".

Meanwhile, the police have maintained tight security and are doing an on the spot survey. The course of action against the agitators will be decided after all the elements are taken into consideration, police informed.
