Two things the Sri Lankan team, which will base itself here, won't run short of -- the first is shoes, the second is nightspots. Northampton is so inextricably linked to the shoe business, that its football team is in fact called Cobblers. The ground dates back to 1885, and was modernised recently. If the weather intervenes and disrupts outdoor practise, no problem -- the Lankans will have use of the state of the art indoor cricket facility at the venue.

Northampton has never played host to an LOI till date.
