The late burst from Lara and Sarwan took WI to a reasonably safe score of 230. The rediff.com expert reckoned that anything above 210 would be difficult for Bangladesh. The chase therefore opened with a PI of 124.
Bangladesh never got going. They scored only 4 runs in the first five overs and then Tamim ran himself out. The PI rose to 136.
Things got even worse as Aftab, Saqibul, Ashraful and Javed fell in a space of about eight overs, and skipper Bashar followed them soon. With the PI well above 170, it was simply a matter of waiting for the end to come.
Bangladesh looked as though they had had enough; this World Cup campaign was actually expected to end a month ago!
