Follow your morning visit to the Victoria Memorial
with a look at the Marble Palace.
Later, walk down Strand Road and
visit the ghats along the Hooghly
.
If you have two days
On the second day, visit the Jain Temple
or the Birla Planetarium in the
morning. Reserve the afternoon for a drive across the Hooghly
and a visit to the famed New Market. Have afternoon tea at Flury's.
If you have five daysOn the third day, take a day trip to the Botanical Gardens.
Alternately, visit Belur Math or
Dakshineswar. On your last two
days see if you can manage an overnight trip to Sunderbans
or Digha or Malda
or Murshidabad or Shanti Niketan
or Vishnupur.
