Pakistan announces celebratory cricket packageThree one day internationals against India in late September, a Test series against South Africa and a four nation one day international tournament will highlight the Pakistan Cricket Board's contribution to the country's celebration of the 50th anniversary of Independence. "Pakistan and India will play three one games to mark their joint golden jubilee of Independence," said PCB CEO Majid Khan. The games are scheduled for September 28 (Karachi), September 30 (Hyderabad) and October 2 (Lahore). South Africa will visit Pakistan for a three-Test series, the games to begin on October six (Rawalpindi), October 17 (Sheikpura) and October 24 (Faisalabad). The celebratory package ends with the Independece Cricket Series, a one-day tournament in Lahore between November 1-8, which involves Sri Lanka, South Africa and the West Indies besides hosts Pakistan. "Playing cricket, which is a national obsession in Pakistan, is the best way for the country to celebrate its 50th year as an independent nation," Majid Khan told the media in Lahore.
