Bhupathy, Paes enter quarterfinals

The Indian Davis Cup pair of Mahesh Bhupathy and Leander Paes on Thursday entered the quarterfinals of the $ 2.3 million ATP Super-Nine Series Championship at Mason, defeating the eighth-seeded US pair, Donald Johnson and Francisco Montana.

In a close second round, they won the first set 7-5, lost the second 5-7, but went on to wrap up the third set and the game 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

The Indians reached the second round with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Jack White (USA) and Fernon Wibier (The Netherlands) on Tuesday.
