Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna made an early exit from the euro 42,500 ATP Challenger series tournament for the Surbiton Trophy in Great Britain, losing his singles second round tie against higher ranked Arnaud Clement of France.
Bopanna, placed 225 rungs below his French opponent in the ATP charts at 310th, lost 2-6, 5-7 to crash out of the tournament, on Thursday.
Bopanna's campaign in the doubles event ended without playing a match when he and his Pakistani partner Aisam-ul-Haq-Qureshi withdrew from their first round match.
The Indo-Pak pair was given the top billing and up against wild card entrants Neil Bamford and Goodall Joshua of Great Britain.
