India clinched the five-Test hockey series against Belgium after winning the fourth match 2-1, at the Mayor Radhakrishnan stadium, in Chennai, on Wednesday.
The victory gave the hosts an unassailable 3-0 lead.
India went into attack mode straightaway and sounded the board through Rajpal Singh within 30 seconds of the start.
The visitors drew parity in the 20th minute through forward Jerome Truyens, but only eight minutes later India, bolstered by junior stars Samir Baxla and Diwakar Ram, who returned from a successful tour of Malaysia, regained the lead.
Diwakar made good use of a dummy by Ramachandra Raghunath following India's second penalty-corner to score what turned out to be the match-winner.
The fifth and final match of the series will be played at the same venue on Thursday.
The teams drew the first Test 4-4, while India, riding on a hat-trick from Tushar Khandekar, won the second 4-0, and third 3-2.
