Chetan Anand in last four

India's Chetan Anand downed Yu Chen of China in straight games to storm into the men's semifinals of the Yonex Sunrise India Open Grand Prix badminton tournament in Hyderabad on Friday.

Chetan emerged 21-16, 22-20 victorious over his Chinese rival but the Indian camp was denied a double delight after Anand Pawar lost a close match to Andrew Smit of England [Images] 18-21, 19-21 in the other quarterfinal.

Saina bows out

Boonsak Ponsana of Thailand beat Sheng Shiun Liao of Taipei 20-22, 21-14, 21-14 while Japan's [Images] Sho Sasaki defeated Yi Lu of China 21-17, 13-21, 21-14.

In men's  doubles, Jae Sung Jung and Young Dae of Korea defeated Chris Langride and Andew Ellis of England 21-19, 21-11 while Chandra Wijaya of Indonesia and Tony Gunawan of USA downed Michael Logosz and Robert Mateusiak of Poland 21-15, 21-17.
