Lindsay Davenport [Images] continued her comeback at the Bali Classic on Friday, reaching the semi-finals with an impressive 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win over top seed and world number three Jelena Jankovic.
Neither of the pair played well at the same time in an often rugged match but the American's serving power gave her the edge over a weary opponent.
While the Serb had travelled from the US Open following a gruelling American hardcourt season, Davenport has barely played for a year and freshness won over lack of match play on this occasion.
The emotional Jankovic became involved in a number of disputes with Sri Lankan umpire Asitha Attygala, especially late in the third set, and she refused to shake hands with the official at the end.
