Ritwik Bhattacharya and Saurav Ghosal created history as two Indian players made it to the main draw of a Super-Series Squash Championship for the first time.

Both Ghosal and Bhattacharya, India Cements [Get Quote] Squash Academy trainees, won their final qualifying ties to make the 32-player main draw of the World Super Series Plantinum Event in Hong Kong this morning.

Ghosal disposed of South African Jesse Englebrecht 11-5, 11-9, 11-5 in 30 minutes while Bhattacharya rallied from a first game loss to get the better of Chris Simpson of United Kingdom 4-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-4 in 42 minutes.

However, Ghosal has a tough task ahead in the first round of the main draw, being pitted against World Champion David Palmer (Aus). Bhattacharya plays Adrian Grant of England [Images].

In the ladies section, Joshna Chinappa went down to Sarah Kippax of England.

Ghosal and Bhattacharya's performance is expected to boost the confidence of the Indian Men's team which is gearing itself for the challenges in the World Men's Team Championship slated to be held in Chennai next month.
