Indian racing sensation Armaan Ebrahim put up a superlative performance to win the Formula Renault V6 Asia race in Zuhai, China.

Starting third on the grid for the 20-lap Grand race, the 18-year-old shot into the lead in the first corner and never looked back from there.

Armaan opened up a three-second lead by the fourth lap, which extended to six seconds by the 10th lap. He passed the chequered flag with more than six seconds to spare.

The official practice went well for Armaan as he was quickest in the first session and second fastest in the final session.

In qualifying, Armaan clocked the fastest time in the first session. However, in the second qualifying session, he could not find the same grip level with new tyres and finally finished fourth with Japan's [Images] H Yoshimoto qualifying on pole.

"The Grand race was very important for me to do well as I was very keen on matching the pace of the very experienced Hoshimoto. I got a great start and made it to the lead with keeping my complete focus on lap time consistency. I pushed initially and then maintained a steady pace to take a comfortable win," Arman said after the win.

"I had a great car for the race and I thank the entire team for working so closely with me for the whole year and giving me all the support that was required," he added.
