Celtic are chasing a win at already qualified AC Milan later on Tuesday even though they just need a draw to reach the Champions League last 16.
The Scottish champions beat the holders 2-1 at home in October, when Milan keeper Dida feigned injury, and coach Gordon Strachan has said they will not change their attacking ways at San Siro, where a win would put Celtic top of the group.
A defeat for Celtic though, against a probable Milan reserve side would give Shakhtar Donetsk the chance to reach the knockout stages for the first time, if they can overcome eliminated Benfica at home.
Benfica still have the opportunity of reaching the UEFA Cup last 32 as a victory in Ukraine would lift them over Shakhtar into third.
The last round of matches in Group D has been brought forward by a week because European champions Milan jet off to the Club World Cup in Japan [Images] following Tuesday's games.
