Sinimol Paulose won the gold medal in women's 1,500 metres as India ended its campaign on a glittering note in the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Pattaya, Thailand.
The Tata Athletic Academy athlete clocked four minutes, 18.29 seconds in the event to claim the only gold for the country in the championship, which concluded at the Thai beach resort on Sunday.
Paulose had earlier won the silver medal in the 800 metres and was also part of the 4x400 relay team that won the bronze.
Her stellar performance went some way in making up for the disappointment of ace long jumper Anju Bobby George missing out on the gold medal at the championship.
Anju could win only a silver medal, clearing 6.32 metres, which was nowhere near her personal best of 6.83m, achieved at the Athens Olympics [Images].
The long jump gold went to Japan's [Images] Maho Hamaoka, who leapt to a distance of 6.4m.
In other events, O P Jaisha won the bronze in the women's 3,000 metres while Ghamanda Ram clocked 1:51.47 seconds to claim a bronze in the men's 800 metres.
India ended the three-day championship with a haul of one gold, two silver and three bronze medals.
