India's Jaspal Rana equalled the world record in the men's 25m centre fire pistol event by aggregating 590 points at the 15th Asian Games in Doha on Friday.
The ace Indian marksman, who had claimed the gold medal in the men's 25m standard pistol event at the Lusail range yesterday, equalled the marks set by seven other shooters in the world. Starting with the precision round, the 30-year-old Delhi [Images] shooter fired three rounds of 98 each to total 294 points.
Later, in the rapid fire segment, he came up with 100, 98 and 98 to aggregate 296. He was leading the bunch of 48 participants in the qualification stage of the competition.
