India finished their campaign in Asian Boxing Championships at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam with a bronze medal, won by Jai Bhagwan in lightweight category.
Jai Bhagwan, who was the only among the eight-member Indian team to make it to the medal-winning round, lost his semi-final bout to Noraldin Chengini of Iran on points 23:11, according to information provided by the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation on Saturday.
The other Indian boxers had crashed out in the preliminary rounds itself.
India had expected a better show in the championships after they recently won the Commonwealth title in Glasgow, Scotland.
AIBF General Secretary Col Muraliraja blamed the tough draw handed out to the Indians for their indifferent showing.

"We were unlucky to have been drawn against tough opponents from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan," he said."What was more surprising was that the Pakistan team which returned empty handed from Commonwealth championships, had four entries in the finals here," Col Raja said emphasising that draws played a big role.
He also said the Indians had changed their scoring techniques just a few months ago and it would take them time to deliver the results.
"We will study the video recordings of their bouts and work on the loopholes," he added.
