India's Leander Paes [Images] and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia-Montenegro crashed out of the USD 2,724,600 Pacific Life tennis tournament in Indian Wells, USA, after losing in the quarter-finals on Friday.
The sixth seeded pair gave a tough fight to top seeds Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada [Images] before going down 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, according to information received in New Delhi.
The duo had moved into the last eight with a comfortable win against Xavier Mallise and Olivier Rochus of Belgium in the second round on Wednesday.
In other quarterfinal matches in men's doubles, Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley [Images] of Australia, the seventh seeds, defeated second seeded Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7/5).
Third seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Max Mirnyi of Belarus beat Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez of Argentina, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
The fourth seeded American duo of Bob and Mike Bryan got the better of Yves Allegro of Switzerland [Images] and Michael Kohlmann of Germany [Images], 6-3, 6-4.
