Pankaj Advani [Images] put behind the disappointment of Thursday to spearhead India to a convincing 22-15 lead against Pakistan after the first session on the second day in the Lawrencepur Challenge Snooker Series at the Karachi Club in Karachi on Friday.
Advani, the former world snooker champion and reigning world billiards champion, single-handedly earned five out of 10 points India earned on Friday as their cueists won all the four matches in the opening session.
Together with Devendra Joshi, Advani beat the pair of Saleh Mohammad and Naveen Perwani with the youngster's additional contribution being one bonus for a half-century break.
The soft-spoken and down to earth Advani, in the match of former world champions, then destroyed 1993 champion Mohammad Yousuf [Images] 115-5, 59-6, 10-62 that included two half-century breaks in the first frame.
In the second session, two singles three-frame matches will be played while the three-point Lucky Seven singles will be the last feature of the day.
