Former Wimbledon and U.S. Open runner-up Mark Philippoussis is in doubt for this month's Australian Open after pulling out of the Sydney International on Sunday with a muscle tear. The big-serving Australian tore his adductor muscle in last week's Hopman Cup in Perth and the injury has still not healed. Philippoussis was scheduled to play in Sydney, one of the final lead-up tournaments before the Australian Open starts on January 17, but withdrew out on Sunday.
