FIA confirms 10 teams for 2005 season
December 02, 2004 12:36 IST
Formula One's governing body confirmed on Wednesday that 10 teams, the same number as this year, had entered the 2005 world championship.
The International Automobile Federation (FIA) listed 'Jaguar Racing', bought by Austrian billionaire Dietrich Mateschitz and renamed Red Bull on last month's deadline day, as one of the 10.
However an FIA spokesman said the reference to Jaguar was merely procedural. A change of name has been applied for.
Minardi and Jordan, whose future was in considerable doubt after Ford's decision to sell engine supplier Cosworth, were also included.
Neither they, nor Red Bull, had entered any drivers but they have until 1600 on March 3 to do so. The season starts with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 6.
