World Rapid chess champion Viswanathan Anand continued with his demolition act to win the Sao Paulo Rapid chess tournament by a three-point margin in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The world No. 2 beat local stalwart Gilberto Milos in the tenth and final round to take his points tally to 8.5 out of a possible 10.

Anand conceded just three draws and won seven games to emerge triumphant by a thumping margin.

It was Anand's third straight title following a double triumph on German soil, where he won the Dortmund Sparkassen meeting and the Mainz Classic against Spaniard Alexei Shirov.

The event that was played under Rapid chess rules with 25 minutes to each player and a 10-second addition after every move is made, turned out to be a cakewalk for Anand as he scored positional victories on the last day.

Grandmaster Ivan Morovioc Fernandez of Chile finished second in the overall standings with 5.5 points while the third spot went to Brazil's Rafael Leitao, who scored 4.5.

Former World champion Anatoly Karpov of Russia ended up in a 4-5 tie with Brazilian Giovanni Vescovi on four points each, while the last round loss put Milos at the bottom of the table with 3.5 points from his 10 games.
