Tollygunge Agragami scored late to hold Mohammedan AC 1-1 in a quarter-final league match of the IFA Shield football tournament on Monday and enter the semi-finals of the tournament.

In a slow-paced match, because of the slippery underfoot conditions, caused by heavy rain before the start of the match, both the teams missed many goal scoring chances.

Mohammedan AC went into the lead in the fifth minute, when Arup Sarkar's powerful shot found the net.

Tollygunge found the equaliser in the last minute of the match when Laltu Das headed home following a corner, to earn his side a draw and a berth in the semi-finals.

East Bengal thrash Wari 9-0

Kolkata giants East Bengal crushed Wari 9-0 in a group league match of the tournament at the Kanchanjungha stadium in Siliguri.

In a totally one-sided match, East Bengal scored as many as six goals in the first half itself.

For East Bengal, Dipankar Roy scored four goals, Bijen Singh two, and Kulothungan, Douglas and Tlunaga a goal each.

Dipankar scored all his four goals in the first half but failed to make it a hat-trick as Bijen scored the second and fifth goal for the red and gold brigade.

The Siliguri Municipal Corporation felicitated East Bengal and its coach, Subhas Bhowmick, in the stadium for winning the ASEAN Cup and ushering in a new era in Indian football.
