Indian golfers on brink of World Cup berth

India are on the brink of a securing a place in the World Cup after an impressive showing in the third and penultimate round of the Nations Cup golf, being played at the Laguna National Golf and Country Club's Classic Course in Singapore.
According to information received in Delhi, India's tournament tally of five-under 211 has them tied for the fifth position with Singapore and just a solitary stroke behind fourth placed Thailand.
The Indian team of Digvijay Singh and Gaurav Ghei tallied four-under 68 on Saturday following rounds of 70 and 73 earlier in the tournament.
The top four teams at the Nations Cup will qualify for the World Golf Championships at Kiawah Island, United States in November.
Myanmar and China led the field at a healthy 12-under 204, while Finland was placed third at seven-under 209.
