The ongoing fortnight-long training camp of the Indian hockey team might be shifted to Bangalore if the present humid weather conditions continue to prevail in the state capital for the next couple of days.

An official in the Uttar Pradesh Hockey Association on Sunday said the camp could be shifted to Bangalore if the weather conditions in Lucknow don't improve.

"The present sultry condition in Lucknow is becoming uncomfortable for the players attending the camp," he added.

He said two prominent players, skipper Dhanraj Pillai and goalkeeper Devesh Chauhan are suffering from mild fever and not doing regular practice.

"The weather condition is said to be one of the reasons behind the ill health of players," he added.

However, the official maintained that if there is good rainfall in a couple of days, the camp would continue till August 10 before the team leaves for Holland to participate in the six-nation Champions Trophy from August 16.

Earlier, Indian Hockey Federation secretary Jyothikumaran had also hinted that the players are not keeping fit due to the humid weather, which if continues, the camp would be shifted to Bangalore.

The 24-member Indian hockey probables started training in Lucknow on July 21. They are staying at the sprawling Sahara Shahar in five-star facilities. Sahara is the official sponsor of the Indian hockey team.
