Amritraj, Mankad, Uppal get wild cards

Promising talents Harsh Mankad, Vishal Uppal and Prakash Amritraj have been given wild cards for the $25,000 Indian Oil Servo ATP Challenger, beginning in Bangalore on Monday.
"Harsh has performed remarkably well over the last year. He has done well on the Futures circuit and was impressive in India's Davis Cup tie against Australia last year," said top doubles player and CEO of Globosport Mahesh Bhupathi in a statement.
Mankad, who is back from his stint at the Universirty of Minnesota, is currently ranked 457 in the ATP list.
Bhupathi said Amritraj, who won the Most Valuable Player award in last year's American College circuit, is someone to watch out for.
The 19-year-old Prakash, son of tennis legend Vijay Amritraj, is ranked 655 in his first year on the ATP circuit. He is coming after recording some impressive wins at the qualifiers of $350,000 tournaments at Scottsdale and San Jose.
The thrid beneficiary, Uppal, who won a bronze medal at the Busan Asian Games, has improved a lot, especially in doubles.
The others in contention for a wild card were Sunil Kumar, Vijay Kannan, Mustafa Ghouse and Ajay Ramaswamy.
Promising junior players Somdev Verman and Karan Rastogi were rewarded with wild cards to the qualifying rounds starting on Saturday.
