Tyson-Lewis fight will be great if no ear biting

Marvin Hagler, the former world middleweight champion, said he expected a great fight between Mike Tyson and world heavyweight title holder Lennox Lewis next month as long as Tyson did not bite anybody's ears off.

"Tyson is definitely going to come out stronger for the first three or four rounds," Hagler told reporters at the Laureus World Sports Awards on Monday."

"But then Lewis, if he does what he knows how to do, Tyson doesn't have that real strong punch.

"So if they give him his pills so that he doesn't bite anyone's ears off then we're going to see a great fight," he added.

The controversial Tyson meets Lewis at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis, Tennessee on June 8.

They had been scheduled to meet in Las Vegas in April but the bout was called off after a brawl between the two and their entourages at a news conference in New York in January.

Tyson was banned from boxing for a year after biting a chunk out of Evander Holyfield's ear in their world title bout in Las Vegas in 1997.

Only two days ago Tyson said he wished the world heavyweight champion was dead.
