Clijsters hires old coach to prepare for U.S. Open
Kim Clijsters has rehired her former junior coach Marc Dehous to help her prepare for the U.S. Open.
Dehous is due to begin assisting the losing 2001 French Open finalist the week prior to the next grand slam, which starts on August 26.
The 19-year-old Belgian has been without a coach since she parted company with Carl Maes after this year's French Open.
She reached the final of the $585,000 Bank of the West Classic on Sunday, falling to top seed Venus Williams as she attempted to defend her title.
The seventh-ranked Clijsters has been saddled with shoulder and arm problems this year and was upset early at both Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Clijsters was tutored by Dehous when he worked for the Belgium Tennis Federation.
At the Bank of the West Classic, Clijsters played without a coach and practised with her boyfriend, top-ranked men's tennis player Lleyton Hewitt.
