Manoj Mahadevan in Jamaica F11 semis
Manoj Mahadevan stormed into the semi-final of the US$10,000 Futures event at Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Friday.
Manoj, unseeded at the event, defeated Jamaica's Dustin Brown 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 to set semi-final clash with Brandon Wagner of the United States.
In the other semi-final eight seed Gabriel Montilla of Peru will face second seed Julien Cassaigne of France.
Earlier, in second round, Manoj defeated America's Jason Mallaiah 7-6(2), 6-3 after edging past qualifier Robert Haybittel of Australia 7-5, 6-4 in the first round.
In the doubles event, Manoj and Toshiharu Kato of Japan lost to Dustin Brown of Jamaica and Julien Cassaigne of France 6-1, 6-7(5), 4-6 in their quarter-final match.
Meanwhile, Indian Davis Cupper Rohan Bopanna and Morgan Wilson of Australia lost in the semi-final of the US$15,000 Futures event at St Joseph's, Missouri, USA, on Friday.
The duo, unseeded at the event, went down to Brandon Kramer of the US and Nenad Toroman of South Africa 2-6, 2-6.
In the singles, seventh seed Bopanna had a first round exit, losing to the Chinese qualifier Shao-Xuan Zeng 7-5, 1-6, 3-6.
In another good show at the big event, Prakash and Stephen Amritraj of the United States have stormed into the semi-finals of the $400,000 Mercedes-Benz Cup at Los Angeles.
The brother duo, a wildcard entry, defeated fourth seed Neville Godwin of South Africa and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe 6-3, 6-4 in their quarter-final match.
Earlier they had edged past George Bastl of the Swizterland and Sandon Stolle of Australia 4-6, 7-6(3), 6-2 in a first round match.
They now will face Justin Gimelstob of the United States and Michael Llodra of France.
In the singles qualifying, Prakash Amritraj lost to compatriat Jeff Williams 7-5, 5-7, 6-7(3) in the first round.
