Japan trounce India to enter semis

Japan stormed into the semi-finals of the Asian Football Confederation Under-19 women's championship, thrashing India 9-0 in their concluding Group A league match in Goa on Tuesday.

The result put the Japanese on top of Group A, ahead of South Korea, who scored a 13-0 victory over Guam in a later match at the Nehru stadium.

Japan completed their league engagements with a tally of nine points, while Korea had six, India three and Guam nil.

A double hat-trick by Park Eun Jung and a hat-trick by Han Song I was the highlight of South Korea's big victory. The winners, who led 7-0 at half time, scored through Park Eun Jung (12th, 21st, 28th, 30th, 90th and injury time), Han Song I (38th, 65th, 77th), Lee Jang Mi (42nd, 59th) and a goal each by Jang Jeong Hee (3rd) and Lee Eun Hea (58th).
