Ronaldo in Inter squad for UEFA Cup matchTwice World Player of the Year Ronaldo has been named in Inter Milan's squad for Tuesday's UEFA Cup second round, second leg match against Polish side Wisla Krakow. "I am happy to be called up for this game. There is no surprise for me, I am just glad to be back in the frame for a match," the Brazilian told Inter's official website on Sunday. Ronaldo made his return to official action after 17 months against Romanian side Brasov in the first round of the UEFA Cup on September 21. The Brazilian had been out since April 2000 when he ruptured a knee ligament in the Italian Cup final and underwent an operation. But Ronaldo suffered a thigh injury in the second leg of the tie in Romania a week later which has kept him on the sidelines since. On Saturday Inter coach Hector Cuper had said that the Brazilian was "almost certain" to return to Serie A action against Lecce next Sunday after a 23 month absence from the Italian league. By coincidence Ronaldo's last appearance in the Italian league came against Lecce on November 21, 1999 when he scored before limping off with a knee injury. The former Barcelona striker needed an operation and it was four months before he returned to action in the Cup final against Lazio. But his substitute appearance lasted just six minutes before he was stretchered off in agony, needing another knee operation. Inter lead Wisla 2-0 from the first leg of the tie.
