Bhupathi goes down in quarter-finalShailesh SoniIndian doubles ace Mahesh Bhupathi crashed out of the $10,000 ITF F1 Futures tennis tournament in Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday. The Indian, a wildcard entrant at the event, lost to South Korean Kim Dong-Hyun 3-6, 4-6 in his quarter-final match. Mahesh was a bit rusty in the match and made a string of unforced errors which was the prime cause of his the loss to the 508th ranked Korean. The Indian doubles ace, who is trying to lift is singles ranking, will pick up 2 ATP points from his showing at the tournament. Kim Dong-Hyun will next face Indonesian Febi Widhiyanto, who rallied from a set down to upset eight-seeded Lee Seung-Hun of South Korea 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Seventh-seeded Lior Dahan of Israel, who won the Futures tournament in Pune, India, a week back, also came from behind to oust Indonesian Peter Handoyo 6-7(3-7), 6-3, 6-2. He next confronts Australian Luke Bourgeois, who moved past fifth-seeded Wang Yeu-tzuoo 7-6(7-4), 6-1.
