Philippoussis to miss Davis Cup finalMark Philippoussis has been overlooked for the Australian squad named on Friday to play France in this month's Davis Cup final. The hero of Australia's 1999 Davis Cup win over France, Philippoussis only returned to competitive tennis last month after missing most of the year with injury. With only a handful of games under his belt, the former U.S. Open finalist was not considered ready for this year's final, to be held in Melbourne from November 30 to December 2. The only change to the squad form that selected for the semifinal win over Sweden was the addition of doubles specialist Sandon Stolle, although he is unlikely to play in the final. Lleyton Hewitt and Patrick Rafter are certain to be selected as the two singles players when the seven-man squad is trimmed to four players with Todd Woodbridge and Wayne Arthurs the likely doubles pairing. Australia squad: Lleyton Hewitt, Patrick Rafter, Wayne Arthurs, Todd Woodbridge, Richard Fromberg, Josh Eagle, Sandon Stolle.
