India beats ChileIndia beat Chile 4-0 in an elimination match of the Junior Women's World Cup hockey here yesterday. India plays Spain later today to decide ninth place and the loser will take 10th. Shanggai Ibemhal Chanu scored after five minutes and Adline Kerketta notched India's second goal in the 22nd minute. In the second-half, Manda Kharab netted two goals, the first in the 45th minute and the second in the last minute. In the semi-finals, Korea defeated Australia in sudden-death overtime 1-0 to advance to the final against hosts Argentina who beat defending champions Netherlands 2-0. In other elimination round matches yesterday, Spain beat Wales 2-0 as Barbara Malda scored the first goal in the 41st minute and Maria Romagosa added another in the 45th minute. Wales had several chances to score, but failed to convert. Wales and Chile will battle it out to decide the 11th and 12th place. In the cellar-dweller battle for 13th place, Canada beat Russia 5-0 with three of the winning goals coming off of penalty corners. Canada plays the United States to decide 13th place.
