Derepasko extendedSecond seed Artem Derepasko of Russia and sixth seed Donavan September of South Africa won their first round matches comfortably and moved into the next round of the Desai Brothers-ITF Satellite tennis championship, in Pune, on Tuesday. Derespasko defeated Jonathan Marray of Great Britian 7-5, 6-7(7-9), 7-6 (7-1) in two hours and 30 minutes after failing to capitalise on two match-points in the tie-breaker of the second set at 6-4. Marray levelled the score at 6-6 and went on to win the set at 9-7. Derespasko was also trailing in the third set 2-4 and it seemed that as if Marray would create an upset, but the Russian fought back won seven points in a row to force the deciding set into tie-breaker. He won the tie-breaker 7-1 and won the set and the match. In another match of the day, wild card Rohan Bopanna of India went down tamely against Donavan September 7-6 (8-6), 6-2. Another Indian and wild card Mustafa Ghouse was also defeated by Simon Dickson of Great Britian 6-3, 7-5. In an all-Indian clash between qualifiers Vishal Uppal and Rishi Sridhar, the former who prevailed 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
