Sunil Kumar in boys'
doubles quarter-finals

Promising Indian junior Sunil Kumar, playing with Clinton Letcher of Australia, stormed into the quarter-finals of the boys' doubles at Wimbledon, defeating seventh seeds Paul Capdeville of Chile and Oscar Posada of Venuzuella 6-2, 6-4 in the second round.

The Indo-Aussie pair completely domintated the match, breaking their rivals twice in the first set and once in the second to take the match, which lasted for just over an hour.

Sunil and Clinton broke in the third and seventh games to take a quick 5-2 lead in the first set. Then Letcher served out the eighth game to take the set at 6-2, in 27 minutes.

In the second set, the Indo-Aussie pair got a break in the third game. After this, they just kept holding serve easily. They had two match-point in the seventh game, but could not convert them. Then Sunil served off the set and match in the 10th game.

They now will face the winner of the match between the top seeded Mexican pair of Bruno Echagaray/Santiago Gonzalez and Jonathan Chu of The United States and Matija Zgaga of Slovakia.
