Fazaluddin in doubles final
India's Syed Fazaluddin and Dmitri Tomshevich of Uzbekistan entered the
men's doubles final in the ITF men's Futures 2001 tournament, in Jorhat, Assam, on Thursday.
The pair got the better of fourth seeded Indonesians Wibowoamaral and Bonit Wiryawan 5-7, 6-2, 7-5, in the semi-
final at the Jorhat Tennis Club.
Tomshevich, top seeded in men's singles, however failed to make it to the semis as he was drubbed 1-6, 2-6 by sixth seed
Vincent Allegre of France in the quarter finals.
Fazaluddin and Tomshevich, the second seeded pair, will meet Oliver Freelove and James Nelson of Britain, who made it
to the final, beating Rik De Vost (South Africa) and Hen Pramono (Indonesia) 7-6, 7-5 in the other semi-final.
In the other men's singles semi-finals, Fabio Maggi (Italy) beat Ivan Ceronic (Croatia) 6-4,
6-2; Andreas Fasching (Austria) beat James Nelson (Britain)
7-5, 6-4; and Denis Gremelmayr of Germany beat Fed Hemmes of
Nederlands 6-1, 7-6.
