Jordan helps Wizards to fourth winMichael Jordan scored 25 points with six rebounds and seven assists to help the Washington Wizards beat the Miami Heat 82-80 on Wednesday to extend their season-high winning streak to four games. Richard Hamilton added 23 points on 10-for-19 shooting for the Wizards. LaPhonso Ellis missed a potential game-winning three-pointer with three seconds left for the struggling Heat and the rebound fell to Washington guard Tyronn Lue as time ran out. The Heat, who charged back after trailing 71-63 after three quarters, were paced by Jimmy Jackson, who scored 18 points. Ellis added 15 points and Alonzo Mourning 11 for Miami, which has lost 14 of its last 16 contests. In San Antonio, Tim Duncan had 28 points and 13 rebounds as the Spurs charged past the Toronto Raptors 108-95 for their fifth win in a row. Raptors star Vince Carter, who entered the game second in the NBA in scoring at 27 points per game, sat out the second half with a bruised right calf after scoring just six points in 21 minutes. The Spurs improved to 10-1 at home and 15-4 overall. In Phoenix, Shawn Marion and Tony Delk scored 21 points apiece to lead a balanced attack as the Suns routed the Kings 114-88 to for a measure of revenge against Sacramento. The Kings beat Phoenix three of four times they met in the regular season and three out of four times again in the first round of the playoffs. This time, the Suns never trailed as they raced to a 20-4 lead in the first eight minutes. At Utah, Kevin Garnett scored 24 points to boost the Minnesota Timberwolves to their fifth successive victory, a 98-87 decision over the Jazz. Garnett also had eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks as the Timberwolves snapped Utah's four-game winning streak. Minnesota's Joe Smith scored 15 points before being ejected in the final minute for a flagrant foul on Utah rookie Andrei Kirilenko. Karl Malone scored 20 points for the Jazz. Utah led 52-51 at halftime, but the Wolves outscored the Jazz 31-13 in the third period. In Los Angeles, the once-lowly Clippers continued their upward move by dropping the Seattle SuperSonics 114-94. Quentin Richardson scored 23 points as the Clippers (12-10) never trailed and led by as many as 29 points. Monday's win over Orlando moved the Clippers above .500 for the first time since being 6-5 on November 21, 1996. Lamar Odom had 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a brilliant all-around performance, Corey Maggette scored all 17 of his points in the first half, when the Clippers soared to a 70-45 lead.
