Women's hockey: Argentina defeats Korea 3-2The Rediff TeamIn Pool C action in the women's section of the hockey tournament, Argentina pulled off a remarkable last minute win over Korea. Karina Masotta opened the scoring for Argentina, in the 9th minute, with a field goal. After a wave of abortive attempts, Korea finally restored parity with Mi-Kyung Shin scoring a field goal in the 20th minute. Bo-Ra Cho scored off a penalty, for Korea, in the 33rd minute to take the teams into half-time with Korea leading 2-1. A Luciana Aymar field goal in the 43rd minute pulled it back for Argentina, and, in the 68th minute, Jorgelina Rimoldi scored a field goal to complete the tally and seal the Argentine win. Korea played open, attacking hockey throughout the game, and had far more tries on goal than the Argentines. The latter, though, took advantage of the space created by the Koreans' open play to mount breakaway counter-attacks, and finished a lot better than the Asian champions.
