Indian women's go down fightingSportalasiaForward Cho Bo-ra was the hero of the South Korean team when she scored the golden goal to give them a 2-1 victory over India at a semifinal tie of the third women's Asia Cup at the KL Hockey Stadium. She converted a penalty corner in the 75th to put them through to their third straight final and maintain a 100 per cent record in the history of the tournament. India, who played better than their previous matches, could not lift their game to cut off the Korean onslaught. Korea played aggressively looking for the opening goal but it was India who made the most of their chances which were few and far between. The Korean defenders were too complacent when India earned a their only penalty corner in the first half in the 8th minute and paid the price. Pushpa Padhan did not waste the chance and slotted the the ball easily past the Korean defence for the first goal of the match. Shocked by the goal, the Koreans tried desperately to equalise but their first half efforts were in vain. However, their efforts paid off in the second half when Han Su-Mi was able to convert their 8th penalty corner of the match in the 44th minute. Although the Koreans continued their onslaught for the remainder of the match, the Indians held firm until full-time. In extra-time, it was Korea all the way and Bo-ra inflicted the lethal blow with their first penalty corner in extra-time. "Our gameplan was simple, to attack continuously and wait for their mistakes," said Korean team manager Han Jin Soo. "Unfortunately the Indian players made few mistakes and we had to wait till extra-time. am definitely not pleased with the team's performance and if they want to win the tournament they will have to improve," he said.
